There are 2 ways (at least) to do this, both of which are very confusing, unfortunately:ġ.) Here is the default mapping for the N64 cores (designed around mapping the core functions to 360/PS3/PS4/switch pro pads the way Nintendo mapped N64 buttons to the Wii Classic controller for VC games): Any help would be greatly appreciated as I've spent a good portion of last night and the better part of today trying to get a controller to work at all.
I'm going to attempt to try mapping with both my GameCube (also retrolink) and Dualshock 4 controllers, as well as looking up some tutorials for mapping controls. The controller drivers have been downloaded and the controller has been calibrated through the control panel on my PC. I'm running version 1.7.7 of RetroArch on Windows 10. I've found no other option for mapping the controller within the entire emulator either.

However, when I go to the input menu, I get way more button options than what a Nintendo 64 controller has so I'm not really sure how to go about mapping the controller. The controller works in the setup menu, but it seems that many of the controls are not mapped to the controller correctly. After much difficulty, I finally got RetroArch to recognize my Retrolink N64 controller.
